Hotel de Lençóis

I have enjoyed greatly our stay at the hotel over the Sao Joao holiday. The hotel, located very conveniently, just a few blocks from the center of town. It is situated in a very calm picturesque spot overlooking the charming, historical town Lençóis. The hotel is beautifully decorated with very select examples of Brazilian art and handcrafted items. The decor sets the atmosphere for the whole stay - one of charm and relaxation. Everywhere in the hotel one feels that special attention was given to detail. The restaurant has interesting dishes and reasonable prices. We enjoyed a lot the variety of dishes available at breakfast. We all had fun in the Jacuzzi that is nest to the swimming pool. On this special traditional holiday - the hotel prepared a typical party with 'forro' style music band and special dishes for all the guests. The staff was very helpful in giving tips about all the different trails, rivers, caves, and waterfalls that one might want to visit. We met the owners - very friendly and helpful.

Hard to describe the great vibe at this hotel. It has that worn but ages-well vibe to it. It sort of reminds me of Hanna Inn in Maui, Hawaii in that regard, but not as upscale.

We arrived somewhat late at night by car, and they offered to show us a room. It has great rustic touches with some modern elements (like the bathroom design). The bed is firm, comfy and the sheets are crisp. We stayed in the 30's wing and each room has a small back patio, with antique wooden doors that open on to it. The evenings were somewhat cool so we enjoyed sitting on the patio and resting after exploring the park.

The breakfast is ample and delicious.

The staff have been so nice and helpful. No need to book your day trips in advance, just have the front desk call one of the local guides. The nice front desk clerk Beto called in a young guide who, over beers together, talked us over our options for the next few days. We set a time and a price and we met in the morning.

Also the hotel proudly displays the HRC sticker and a rainbow flag; both prominent at the front desk.

The pool looks incredibly inviting as well, so much so that we want to come back and build in an extra day to just relax at the hotel instead of day trips into the park.

So, in sum, we are loving this place. We actually are staying an extra night we love it so much.

A marvelous, rustic and cozy place. It is a hotel with the feeling of a small inn since the service is personal. In addition to being in the middle of a national park area … to be admired. The hotel has an excellent location in Lençois, many trees and a lovely pool.
